As I See It
by: Steve Goody
While praying one night and praising God in the wee hours of the morning, four little words appeared in my mind. I was quickly taken with wonder as I pondered these words but soon my mind was racing quickly with pictures, sentences, paragraphs on what was happening to the church because of the way we look at issues and the way God sees it.
We take so much for granted because we never looked but listened to Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and most of our pastors.
I do not believe we were misled intentionally but we have accepted too many things as scriptural that are not.
The four little words were “As I see it”.
I am so tired of watching the church self destruct because of ignorance. No one has to cause us to have problems, spiritual or physical because we cause this all by ourselves. We don’t need help: the problem is we all say that Satan is destroying the Body of Christ while he laughs because we give him credit for what he has not done.
Point #1: Just suppose I, or any brother was seen in a restaurant with a younger woman that you didn’t know.
The first thing that normally happens is a phone call or visit to someone to tell what you saw. So Ruthy Rumor calls Greg Gossip who, in turn calls Theresa Talebearer and in a few days it’s all but proven that I’ve had an affair. I am looked down upon by everyone and ignored by some.
Matt. 18:15-16 Moreover, if thy brother shall trespass against thee. Go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone; if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained a brother. If he will not hear thee, then take with the one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witness every word shall be established.
Gal. 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, lest thou also be tempted.
Prov. 6:19 (Seven Deadly Sins) A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
No one came to me and asked, but what if the lady was my daughter-in-law helping me plan a party for my wife?
Point #2
James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a word of iniquity: so is the tongue that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature: and it is set on fire of hell.
Matt. 12:37 For by thy words thou shall be justified and by thy words thou shall be condemned.
How many times have you overheard someone say that they think someone else has a sickness? How many times have you told someone that you were afraid they were going to get a disease and reinforced a small matter of a cold or flu into full blown pneumonia? Think about this. We convince ourselves we are sick and the mind will let it happen.
Change of Course!!!
I believe the Bible, God’s Holy word is written in such a way that with a little study we can find the answers to life’s daily problems, big & small. I believe it is truth, and I know it has been loosely translated to fit people’s needs.
I have read the by-laws of some organizations and cannot find scripture for certain points that will hinder some saints in their walk.
I cannot find where I need to join a church by signing a document or book. It’s not there.
Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is…
I cannot find where I must wear a suit to participate in any ministry service. Actually I find just the opposite.
Matt. 23:14, Mark 12:38 Jesus said, Beware of scribes who love to go in long clothing, love salutations in the market places, chief seats at synagogs, uppermost rooms at feasts, devour widows houses, and for a pretense (or show) make long prayers.
Matt. 23:5 They make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garment.
I just find it hard to believe that I should go out and buy a $500.00 suit when my neighbor’s children don’t have shoes on their feed or food on their tables. Remember “As I See It.”
Paul said in
I Cor. 9:22 to the weak; I am made all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.

The Five Love Languages
By Gary Chapman / Moody Publishers
We all know that the greatest commandment is to love. However, relatively few of us know how to express our love in the heart language of our family and friends. Fortunately, in The Five Love Languages Gary Chapman identifies the five primary love languages and teaches us how to use these languages to express our love. Although this edition of The Five Love Languages was written specifically for couples, the basic principles Chapman explores will apply to all relationships.
